Too many peeps are trying to bend believers of Judaism and Christianity away from God, by saying some holidays have a 'pagan past'. There is no pagan past. If you think about it many the Christian holidays/events were placed on major days of pagan worship/celebration, in order to help the pagans accept or transition into belief of the Lord. Those were rough periods with the pagan vikings, muslim, and other polytheistic beliefs forcing strong oppositions and often at war with Judaism and Christianity.
i.e. Just because the celebration of Christmas was poised to replace the pagan holiday of Saturnalia, it doesn't mean that Christmas and Easter have pagan roots. On the contrary, the placement of the dates of Christmas and Easter are meant to offset pagan influences.
When groups state that Christmas and Easter holidays 'have pagan pasts'... that is just an attempt to slander the word of God.
it may have started as pagan but it represents Christ now so that's what we should focus on instead of the past
My opinion anyway
